The phrase "afternoon phase" is not commonly used in written English and may cause confusion.
It could be used in contexts discussing different phases or stages of the afternoon, but it is not a standard expression.
Example: "During the afternoon phase of the project, we focused on finalizing our designs."
Alternatives: "afternoon period" or "afternoon segment".
