The phrase "affects the increase" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing how one factor influences or contributes to the growth or rise of another factor.
Example: "The new marketing strategy significantly affects the increase in sales over the last quarter."
Alternatives: "influences the growth" or "contributes to the rise".
