They'll play in state races in more than a dozen states with the end game of capturing "a couple dozen" congressional seats in the midterms of 2022, Advantage 2020 Director Mark Schauer said.
New writing, by contrast, has certain advantages, the director said: "I like the writer being there.
"It gives them a marketing advantage," said Victor Gonzalez, director of development for Monahan Pacific, a local company that has built condo properties downtown.
"Clearly, at this point Intel has the megahertz advantage," said Paul Collas, director of product marketing for Gateway, which sells computers with both Advanced Micro and Intel chips.
All of these actors, taking advantage of the director's famously efficient, low-stress approach, were able to stretch out in the zone between realism and melodrama, to explore their characters' raw nerves, tender spots and psychic calluses.
"The underlying political landscape in New Hampshire is pro-Republican, and any Republican running for statewide office has a natural advantage," said Andrew Smith, director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, which conducted polls showing that the race was too close to call.
The ensemble has the advantage of a director, John Rando ("Urinetown"), who is comfortable and experienced with loony comedy, though he can never quite get the play's comic engine running on all cylinders.
