The phrase "advance for something" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to a payment made ahead of time for a service or product that will be provided later.
Example: "The company requested an advance for the project to cover initial costs."
Alternatives: "prepayment for something" or "deposit for something".
The program requires, however, that the customer commit and pay in advance for something that may or may not be used.
