This effect takes the form of shame when discussing certain subjects, the emotional impact involved in having full knowledge of adults' illnesses, the obligation to assume certain responsibilities prematurely, the inversion of the family hierarchy, and the eschewal of some children's activities by those involved [ 15, 16, 18, 20].
When epidemiologists found birth records in India, in South Carolina, in China, and in Sweden, the same basic pattern emerged: slow growth in the womb, as suggested by low birth weight, seemed to increase the risk of adult illnesses like coronary heart disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.
Because the underlying patient safety study focused on adult illnesses, the study excluded children's hospitals.
They included different medicine formulations (tablets, capsules, dry syrups, suspensions, and injectable) appropriate for child and adult illnesses.
Policy guidelines on collaborative TB/HIV activities and integrated management of adult illnesses were also consulted [ 3, 6, 7].

For example, the strategies of Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and Adult Illness (IMAI) [18, 19] highlight the diagnosis and treatment of conditions common to developing countries, and these can be supplemented by local clinical practice guidelines.
The study had 2 primary objectives: (1) to examine whether LBW increases the risk of selected adult illness that may be influenced by the HPA axis and (2) to examine whether the increased risk of illness varies by parental depression status.
