In the initial daily 1-h self-administration training sessions, control rats self-administered food pellets and all cocaine rats self-administered 0.5 mg/kg/infusion cocaine, injected intravenously over 5 s.
Briefly, cocaine self-administration training sessions began 7 days after surgery.
