"admin error" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
This phrase is used to refer to a mistake that was made by an administrator. For example, "The online order was never completed due to an admin error in the system."
The university later put this down to an "admin error".
It's not an "admin error", nor is it an "innocent mistake".
