At 11 42 a.m. on Feb. 14, a conservative online magazine called The Washington Free Beacon posted a dispatch about a speech Chuck Hagel gave in 2007 in which it said he called the State Department "an adjunct to the Israeli foreign minister's office".
Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, said on Fox News Sunday that he would stand aside because Mr. Hagel had disavowed comments that he was said to have made during a talk at Rutgers University in 2007 that the State Department was an adjunct of the Israeli Foreign Minister's office.
Like, what if Hagel said that "the State Department has become adjunct to the Israeli Foreign Minister's office"?" And what if we all pretended that "adjunct to" meant "under the control of"?

Graham, demonstrating that there is tea weak enough to splash around in, has gone to the whole "2007 speech at Rutgers as remembered by a blogger who took some notes that were not word-for-word recollections," that included a statement, remembered by that blogger as "The State Department has become adjunct to the Israeli's foreign minister's office".
