A case in point is its "Here and Now" series of contemporary American music concerts, which continues with a program of major works for violin and piano — the Carter Duo and Lou Harrison's Grand Duo — offered by the violinist Curtis Macomber, a stalwart of New York's new-music scene, and Steven Beck, the barge's adept young house pianist (who performs Wuorinen's solo Capriccio in between).
His membership of the orchestra helped him, in the words of a piano magazine, to get "respect as a powerful, two-fisted pianist adept at delivering entrancingly lyrical and gracefully introspective runs as well as dazzling and buoyant passages".

(Corinna da Fonseca-Wollheim Nicolas Hodgess (Monday) This impressive British pianist, who has proved an adept interpreter of both repertory favorites and contemporary music, presents a wide-ranging program including Books I and II of Debussy's Etudes, the United States premiere of Harrison Birtwistle's "Gigue Machine," and works by Elliott Carter and Busoni.
(Chinen) ★ Jason Moran and the Bandwagon / Geri Allen (Saturday) Elevated pianism provides the through-line in this double bill: Mr. Moran and Ms. Allen are among the leading jazz pianists in the game, both adept with gospel sonorities, postbop harmonic involution and deep blues feeling.
The pianist Wu Han and the cellist David Finckel have proved adept at this so far as music directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Intriguingly, his trio features the pianist Bill Carrothers and the bassist Billy Peterson, an Upper Midwest crew adept with melodic abstraction.
