In a statement on Saturday, Carphone Warehouse revealed that the personal details of as many as 2.4 million customers may have been accessed by the hackers, including names, addresses, date of birth information and bank details.
"Unfortunately there is a chance that some of the following data has been compromised: names, addresses, date of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, TalkTalk account information, credit card details and/or bank details".
Earlier in the week, experts had warned the information seized – including names, addresses, date of birth, and email address of some of its four million customers – could still prove invaluable to criminals.
TalkTalk said: "That investigation is ongoing, but unfortunately there is a chance that some of the following data has been compromised: names, addresses, date of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, TalkTalk account information, credit card details and/or bank details.
The information obtained from the data includes farm names and addresses, date of sampling, location and state, breed, age range, number of animals tested and the number of animals within the tested herd.
Do not ask for personal details, like phone numbers, addresses, date of birth.
Other personal data could include names, addresses, dates of birth, email addresses and telephone numbers.
The files also contained Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth and other personal information.

"We have identified that a subset of Sega Pass members emails addresses, dates of birth and encrypted passwords were obtained.
The data which includes passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, dates of birth was posted to the LulzSec website and appeared to be at least partially genuine.
