It is nevertheless important to bear in mind that, although the present data came from two large independent databases, analyses from additional databases in independent studies will be needed to fully confirm our conclusions.
Additional sensitivity analyses were conducted by modifying the health claims data algorithm (increasing the time frame for incident asthma ambulatory claims from 2 to 3 years or including emergency visit data from an additional database).
