Hiring underage models would also be complicated by the number of hours they can work, Ms. Scafidi said, adding that the regulations, as well as possible fines or an investigation by the labor department, might act as a deterrent to hiring as many underage models.
The FAA adds that the regulation do not prohibit specific airlines from placing their own additional bans on specific devices/batteries.
In a statement, he said the industry "strongly supports" holding governments accountable for how revenues are spent, but added that the regulation as written unfairly targeted US companies.

"In the past, health officials came once a year to give advice on the iodization process, but things will be much stricter in the future," said Pranom adding, that the new regulations will likely put many small salt producers out of business.
"It's an example of cronyism, special interest, lobbyists," he said, adding that the companies needed "more regulation, more oversight, more transparency, more of everything, and frankly, a dramatic reduction in what they do".
"The process needs to be changed," she said, adding that only the regulations for gaining permits would be changed, not laws that protect the air and water.
"We only adopt emissions regulations," he said, adding that the plan "was never intended" to be a fuel economy regulation.
Mr. Klicka added that the only regulation hefound "reasonable" was that families notify authorities of their plans tohome school.
He added that the proposed regulation "certainly will address" public disclosure.
