To see if Adaptive GDDA-BLAST alignments could be used to encode informative alignment profiles for proteins, we took on the challenge of detecting structural homology in highly divergent protein sequences.
Compared to the previous harmonic volumetric mapping computation using MFS, this new scheme is more efficient and accurate, and can support feature alignment and adaptive refinement.
