The phrase "adapted for the purpose" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when describing something that has been modified or tailored to meet a specific need or objective.
Example: "The software was adapted for the purpose of improving user experience and increasing efficiency."
Alternatives: "modified for the goal" or "tailored for the objective".
