The second problem is then considered: how can we find the relevant tuning and continuously adapt image processing to input data?
During a run, observers first adapted for 60 s to either the gray fields (pre-adapt condition) or to adapting images shown within the fields (post-adapt).
This provided a set of adapting images that were either blurrier (original spectrum and − 1.25) or sharper (−0.75 and − 0.5) than the canonical 1/f spectrum (− 1) (Fig. 1).
