The phrase "acted on recommendation" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when describing a decision or action taken based on someone else's suggestion or advice.
Example: "The committee acted on recommendation from the expert panel to implement the new policy."
Alternatives: "followed the advice" or "took the suggestion".
