The phrase "acquiring the task" is not commonly used in written English and may sound awkward.
It could be used in contexts where someone is taking on or obtaining a specific task or responsibility, but it is not the most natural phrasing.
Example: "After acquiring the task of managing the project, she quickly organized her team to meet the deadlines."
Alternatives: "taking on the task" or "assuming the task".
After acquiring the task, when tested in total darkness, all animals failed to engage in the task, and make obvious behavioral choices.
