In the photoacoustic and acoustic projections the overlapping area of the hair loop appears brighter and broader (y ~7 mm).

Results The Assessment of Different NEoplasias in the adneXa (ADNEX) model contains three clinical and six ultrasound predictors: age, serum CA-125 level, type of centre (oncology centres v other hospitals), maximum diameter of lesion, proportion of solid tissue, more than 10 cyst locules, number of papillary projections, acoustic shadows, and ascites.
Ultrasound examination reveals an adnexal mass with more than 10 cyst locules, no papillary projections, no acoustic shadows, ascites, a maximum lesion diameter of 120 mm, and a maximum diameter of the largest solid component of 20 mm (that is, proportion of solid tissue is 20/120).
