The European DEMO conceptual design studies include the development of a reliable control system, since the details of the achievable plasma scenario and the machine design may depend on the actual performance of the control system.
If interventions are scaled up to reach the levels in the achievable coverage scenario, an additional US$370 million (US$7 per capita) per year would be required (Table 5).
