An increased area of glandular tissue in dorsal skin may lead to an increased accumulation of test compounds, which permeated across the skin via the transappendageal pathway.
Accumulation of test results was not linear (see Supplemental Figure 3) and was the best predictor in multivariate models, suggesting that the experience with positive tests rather than just time is important for promoting adherence.
