The phrase "accounting for alternative" is not correct in standard written English.
It may be intended to express consideration of alternatives, but it lacks clarity and proper structure.
Example: "In our analysis, we must ensure we are accounting for alternative solutions to the problem."
Alternatives: "considering alternatives" or "taking alternatives into account."
Comparisons suggest that assemblers capable of accounting for alternative splicing perform best [ 8, 13, 16- 18].
