Last November, Twitter paused its account verifications as it tried to figure out a way to address confusion around what it means to be verified.
Twitter today announced it's pausing all account verifications – the process that gives public figures on Twitter a blue checkmark next to their names – while it tries to resolve "confusion" around what it means to be verified, the company says.

Twitter, of course, pioneered account verification, a still somewhat murky process which angers some of those itching for the "blue seal of approval" next their Twitter profile.
