But, he adds that if a student has an idea and is searching for answers the resources are often readily available, such as access to business networks, funding and advice, and help setting up business plans.
Although the need to boost one's scientific reputation in academia does not differ between the two groups of researchers, there is a medium positive relationship between motivation and entrepreneurial intention.
One additional aspect that did come out in the Indian context is that affiliation with academia does not seem to benefit the organizations much in the high technology areas.
- It seems the life sciences is saturated with qualified individuals and training never seems to end. - Industry seems to be laying off people and academia does not give a good picture about funding.
Academia does not have that culture, at least in the parts that I've been.
