The phrase "able to detect quite" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing the capability of identifying or recognizing something to a certain degree or extent.
Example: "The new software is able to detect quite subtle changes in the data patterns."
Alternatives: "capable of detecting fairly" or "able to identify somewhat".
"In the longer term we could see reduced productivity in these populations, but we may not be able to detect it because the annual variations are quite large".
