Those earning between 250 percent and 400percentt of the poverty level ($82,600 for a family of four) would be able to deduct premium costs that exceed 5.5percentt of their incomes.
No one has any issue with being able to deduct business expenses, but that is not what negative gearing is.
Joel E. Miller, a Queens tax lawyer, said that since the shared appreciation payment that will be made when the house is sold is actually a deferred interest payment, most borrowers should be able to deduct a part of that on each year's tax return in addition to the actual amount of interest paid.

And investors would not be able to deduct the foreign taxes that they pay.
Under that provision, small businesses would be able to deduct the total cost of investments in equipment or expansions, up to a maximum of $500,000 in the first year.
But jurors are often unaware that companies are able to deduct those punitive damages in calculating their federal income taxes, saving them millions of dollars and undermining the original goal of the damages: to punish reprehensible corporate behavior.
With that in mind, individual investors should be able to deduct up to $250,000 a year for investments (phased out if such investments exceed $800,000 for a given year) into early-stage venture funds.
