The phrase "a wide length" is not commonly used in written English and may sound awkward.
It could be used in contexts where you are describing a measurement that is both wide and long, but it is more typical to specify either width or length separately.
Example: "The fabric comes in a wide length, making it suitable for large projects."
Alternatives: "a broad length" or "a spacious length".
However, as more high resolution structures of helical membrane proteins become available, we learn that TMH has a wide length distribution.
