The phrase "a weaker tendency in" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing a lesser inclination or trend observed in a particular context or subject matter.
Example: "There is a weaker tendency in the data to support the hypothesis than initially expected."
Alternatives: "a lesser inclination towards" or "a diminished trend in".
