I recently interviewed a couple for a Vows column who said they wanted to spend their lives finding each other's "inner voices".
The driver of that car, Erika Halweil, was the subject, with her new husband (both are yoga teachers in the Hamptons), of a Vows column in the Sunday Styles section on Sept. 22.
But after hearing that the couple would be featured in a Vows article in The New York Times, the manufacturer of World of Warcraft sent them a free limited-time subscription.
Maybe a discreet "family dinner party" to quietly mark the occasion, but not the sort of affair with a vows ceremony -- let alone waiters who line up on the dance floor for synchronized champagne cork-popping.
