MD of a point in the space reveals an overall degree of visual relation between that point and the rest of the space.
Yet what most people will see, most of the time, are a bulgy thing and a pointy thing sticking into the sky, with no visual relation to each other or much else nearby.
In this paper, this visual relation is called interspatial depth (ID).
