The phrase "a trend of expression" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe a prevailing style or manner of expressing ideas or feelings in a particular context, such as art, literature, or communication.
Example: "In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend of expression in contemporary art that emphasizes emotional vulnerability."
Alternatives: "a pattern of expression" or "a style of expression".
