The phrase "a total alien" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe someone who is completely unfamiliar or out of place in a particular situation or environment.
Example: "When I moved to the new city, I felt like a total alien among the locals who had known each other for years."
Alternatives: "a complete outsider" or "totally out of place".
Are the provenances of those species that become invasive an unbiased subset of total alien flora, or are invaders more likely to come from particular evolutionary centers of origin?

In contrast to the total alien flora, EUS alien invaders are commonly woody species from East Asia, perhaps better reflecting EUS landscapes as dominated by closed secondary forests.
