The phrase "a tendency to exist" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing the likelihood or inclination of something to be present or occur.
Example: "There is a tendency to exist among certain species to adapt to their environments over time."
Alternatives: "a propensity to be" or "an inclination to occur".
The inference from possibility to necessity seems to depend less on the logic of concepts than on Leibniz's esoteric idea that concepts, or possible objects, strive to come into existence with a tendency to exist proportional to their perfection (G 7 303).
