The phrase "a small relationship between" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing the nature or degree of connection between two or more entities, concepts, or variables.
Example: "There is a small relationship between exercise frequency and overall happiness levels in adults."
Alternatives: "a minor connection between" or "a slight association between".
