The phrase "a slightly different sample" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to a sample that has minor variations compared to another sample.
Example: "In our research, we analyzed a slightly different sample to see if the results would vary."
Alternatives: "a somewhat altered sample" or "a marginally distinct sample".
