Within the bounds of these constant positions, no indels are required for the alignment of a contiguous block of 141 amino acids, but slight length variation is observed outside of the Y1 and Y2 positions (Fig. 2; see Additional file 1).
It is noteworthy that the two transcripts of slight length variation are also differentiable by a single-nucleotide polymorphism at the −104 nucleotide.
In general, the detection of slight length variation in chloroplast IGS region is not uncommon [e.g. [ 7, 10, 11, 20]].
The slight length difference could be attributed to the observation that individual M. truncatula exons that had PACs were substantially longer than the typical exon.
While no differences between WT and mutant fibers were evident in the SEM, there does appear to be some slight length differences at 5 DPA as shown in Figure 1, so it can be stated that the mutant fiber phenotype becomes evident by approximately 5 DPA.
Thus, slight length variation occurred either within the first 45 amino acid positions, or at the C-terminus end (i.e., the two Quadrula M COX2e sequences were one amino acid shorter than the others due to the deletion of the terminal residue).
CGRP-positive intraepidermal fibers showed a slight non-length-dependent reduction (Table 2, Online Resource 1, distal leg p = 0.14, proximal leg p = 0.03, back p = 0.007).
Also, a slight alkoxymethyl chain length effect on the overall cytotoxicity is discernible.
The first two introns in the coding regions are conserved across all the PRAMEY loci, with a slight difference in length (1289 1371 bp and 274 284 bp) (Fig. 2).
Inflation-adjusted charges for hospitalization increased from $10,600 in 2000, to $13,700 in 2003, to $16,300 in 2006, accompanied by a slight increase in length of stay from 7.1 days in 2000 to 7.7 days in 2006.
The 2D alignment lengths were all approximately equal to the read length, albeit with a slight tendency for the alignment length to be greater than 2D sequence length (Fig. 3), due to the pattern of indels in MinION data.
