‘a signified’ is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It can be used to refer to something which has been indicated, suggested, or implied, but not directly stated. For example, “The silence was a signified of his disappointment in the outcome.”.
In psychoanalysis, the body is an erogenized body, implying the body is a "signified" body.
However, as Saussure himself pointed out this too is, in fact, not a fact, since if meaning and sound stood apart, there would neither be a signified nor a signifier; in this sense their perception as a beginning and an end is also a fiction.
