The phrase "a significantly different amount" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing a quantity that varies greatly from another quantity, often in contexts like finance, statistics, or comparisons.
Example: "The study revealed that there was a significantly different amount of funding allocated to the two projects."
Alternatives: "a notably different quantity" or "a markedly different figure."
