The phrase "a significant panel of" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to a group of experts or individuals who are convened to discuss or evaluate a particular issue or topic, emphasizing the importance or size of the panel.

Alternatives: "an important panel of" or "a notable panel of".
