Perhaps an even more tangible and important outcome of the 2009 meeting and resultant report is the start-up of the Partners in Undergraduate Life Science Education PULSEE) initiative (www.pulsecommunity.org), organized by the three funding agencies and the American Institute for Biological Sciences.
