It can be used when discussing the outcomes or consequences of the process of speciation in biological or ecological contexts.
Example: "The diverse array of species found in the Galápagos Islands is a result of speciation driven by geographic isolation."
Alternatives: "an outcome of speciation" or "a consequence of speciation".
