The phrase "a relevant notion" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing an idea or concept that is pertinent or applicable to the topic at hand.
Example: "In the context of our discussion on climate change, sustainability is a relevant notion that we must consider."
Alternatives: "an important concept" or "a significant idea."
