The phrase "a reduction in duration" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing a decrease in the length of time something takes or lasts.
Example: "The new policy aims for a reduction in duration for project completion, allowing teams to deliver results more quickly."
Alternatives: "a decrease in time" or "a shortening of duration."
