When plants recovered from 12 days of water deprivation with re-watering for 5 days, WT plants were dead with chlorotic leaves, whereas most transgenic Arabidopsis continued to grow, albeit at a slower rate (Figure 6B (a) and (b)).
A plot of the cumulative amplitude of the secretory events vs. time was linear indicating that once a threshold was reached, secretion occurred at a constant rate (Figure 5A).
In addition, an intra-burst analysis revealed that the subgroup with a high rate in burst response tended to generate bursts with a greater number of spikes than cells with a lower rate (Figure 2B, p<0.05, two samples t-test).
