Ms Salen is a games designer and a professor of design and technology at Parsons The New School for Design, in New York.
"We're now discovering regional designers who didn't get publicity or seek the same kind of name recognition the big city designers looked for," said George H. Marcus, a professor of design at the University of Pennsylvania and the author of "Masters of Modern Design" (Monacelli, 2005).
While a professor of design at the academy, he pursued his hobby of building geometric models.
Juster, an architect, went on to become a professor of design and write more books; Feiffer went on to become Feiffer.
John Maeda, a professor of design and computation at the M.I.T. Media Laboratory, will speak about digital media on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Free.
Salen, a professor of design and technology at Parsons the New School for Design, also directs a research-based organization called Institute of Play, which examines the connections between games and learning.
The study, published in a recent issue of The Journal of Applied Psychology, was conducted by Dr. Gary W. Evans, a professor of design and environmental analysis, and Dana Johnson, then a graduate student.
