The phrase "a plain sequence" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe a straightforward or uncomplicated arrangement of items, events, or elements in a specific order.
Example: "The data was presented in a plain sequence, making it easy to follow the progression of events."
Alternatives: "a simple sequence" or "an unadorned sequence".
In these analyses only the information from the plain sequence was used.
