To explore the mature RG plant phenotype outside the greenhouse, a field performance trial was established over two growing seasons.
We believe that the flow limited athletes may simply be accustomed to higher levels of ventilatory work which maximises their available mechanical room for ventilation, and thus were not as affected by a hypoxic stimulus (from a ventilatory standpoint) during a maximal effort performance trial.
While remaining euhydrated, subjects cycled for 90 min at 65±7%7% VO2max followed by a 15-min performance trial.
