"a pay" is not a correct or usable part of a sentence in written English.
In a sentence, pay can be either a verb or a noun, so "a pay" does not make sense. For example, you could say: "Andy received a pay raise this week." (The word "pay" is a noun here) or "He pays his rent on time every month." (The word "pay" is a verb here).
