Whether or not a given pair of proteins is truly orthologous is unknown (a latent class), but each of the methods under consideration makes a yes/no prediction as to orthology, yielding a pattern comprised of 1's and 0's representing the predictions from all methods.
Type A behavior, originally described as a behavioral pattern comprising impatience, hard driving and a sense of hurry [ 1], was considered in the 60s and 70s as a major behavioral risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD).
Sactipeptides represent a subclass of sulfur-bridged bacteriocins which are characterized by a typical pattern comprising three or four cysteine residues separated by a certain number of amino acids (Fig. 4).
For example, in a population based sample of 1046 Australian women aged 20 94 years, a 'healthy' dietary pattern was associated with a reduced likelihood of clinically diagnosed depressive disorders, whereas a dietary pattern comprising processed and 'unhealthy' foods was associated with an increased likelihood of psychological symptoms and depression [ 7].

Sericin collected directly from the cocoons (Teramoto et al. 2005) or glands (Teramoto et al. 2006) of the Sericin Hope silkworms exhibited an electrophoretic pattern comprising at least five distinct polypeptides; however, these bands could no longer be identified following autoclaving of the samples as they merged into a smear pattern practically identical to that shown in Figure 1.
Employing sericin produced by a B. mori mutant race known as "Sericin Hope", a silkworm that does not synthesize fibroin, it was found that the fractions collected directly from the cocoons' fiber (Teramoto et al. 2005) or from the glands (Teramoto et al. 2006) displayed an electrophoretic pattern comprising at least five distinct polypeptide bands.
Statistical analysis showed that 549 of the 915 CCET assemblages had an embryoid pattern, comprising 60% of the sample (χ = 34.59, P = 0.000001), and 366 (40%) did not have an embryoid pattern (Table 2).
Yamagami et al. were granted a patent for a new CFA pattern comprising RGB and W, as shown in Fig. 5 b [2].
The series in Figure 1a and 1b suggests a very regular repeating pattern comprising an annual spring peak (approximately 90,000 reports of births per week) and a trough at the end of each year (approximately 35,000 reports of births per week).
