Sadly, the film makes a much better case for the latter, with characters so vain, cruel, deceitful, conceited, or just plain stupid that there is no room for a sunny outlook or a constructive statement.
Of course, some royals make much better characters than others.
Writing for Active Anime, Holly Ellingwood stated they "truly represent – Light's newest and greatest enemies", while Briana Lawrence from Anime News Network said both could be "much better characters" if they were treated as individuals instead of "different halves of L".
He observed: "Playing a nasty gives one a much better chance – nasty characters are so much more interesting than wimps".
Additionally, we found that the dependent model in which these ancestors were forced to be flightless with large introns was a much better explanation of the character data than was the independent model (P = 0.0007, χ test, d.f. = 4).
Up to this point, Pollyanna McIntosh has been a much better actor than the Rizla-thin character of Jadis has deserved.
But, of course, Holmes was having a much better hair day than her famous character.
To complicate matters, the guys at Matt's office find out about his vow and begin betting on his ability to keep it, as well as posting news of Matt's progress on the Internet, just to place "40 Days" firmly in the cartoon tradition that the late Chuck Jones left behind -- although Jones did a much better job of providing fully rounded characters.
(This is obviously a much better deal than the one Ray Liotta's character got in "Goodfellas". He couldn't even get decent spaghetti sauce.) It's very inspiring, and luckily there's someone less fortunate to admire him: Mike Santini, a regular-Joe police detective, husband and dad from Queens who has been assigned to interrogate Eddie.
