The phrase "a mixture of patterns" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe a combination of different designs, styles, or elements that are blended together.
Example: "The artist's latest work is a mixture of patterns that reflects both modern and traditional influences."
Alternatives: "a blend of designs" or "a combination of motifs".
